Renewing Your CITA Membership

As 2014 approaches, it is time to start thinking about your CITA membership renewal. With the launch of our new website and membership system last February, there have been a few changes to our membership renewal process. Our system is now fully automated and because of that CTA no longer has a membership director.

The most important change to our membership process is that your CITA membership is now valid for one full year from the day you renew your membership. CTA will therefore no longer hold a renewal drive in January as we have in the past. Instead you will receive an automated email reminder when your membership expires.

The FAQs below explain the new membership renewal system. Please take some time to read these carefully.

When is my 2014 membership due?
Your membership for 2014 is due one year from the day you paid your 2013 membership dues. However, there is one exception (and only for this year, 2014). With the launch of the new website on February 19, 2013, membership was reset for all active members who were in our system at that time (i.e. all members who renewed their 2013 membership before February 2013). These members will not need to renew their membership until February 19, 2014.

How do I know when my membership is due?
You will receive a renewal email notice from us before your membership expires. From the day your membership expires, you will have one month to renew your membership. During this renewal month, your membership benefits will remain in place and you will still be listed in our online directory. During the renewal month, you will receive periodic reminders to pay your dues. If we have not received your payment by the end of the renewal month, your membership will become inactive and you will lose your membership benefits.

How much do I pay to renew my membership?
We are pleased to offer our members the same low membership rates as in 2013. Your 2014 membership rate is $40 for renewing individuals, $70 for renewing families, $70 for renewing corporate members, and $20 for renewing student members. After the renewal period, you will be required to pay the new-member rate of $45 for individuals, $75 for families, $75 for corporate members, and $20 for student members.

How do I pay my membership renewal?
Just wait for your renewal email notice to arrive. This notice will let you know when your account expires. Log in to your account on the CTA website after your account has expired. You will automatically be directed to the payment page. Then follow the directions on the payment page.

How can I reactivate my account after the renewal month has ended?
After the renewal period, you can only reactivate your account by paying the new-member rate. To reactivate your account, log in to your account on the CTA website. You will automatically be directed to the payment page. Then follow the directions on the payment page.

What if I want to join CTA now for the first time?
You may join CTA at any time. Your membership is valid for one year from the day you pay your membership dues. For example, if you pay your membership dues on December 17, your membership is valid until December 17 the following year.
