Are you coming from out of town to the 7th Annual CTA Conference? Spring is a great time in Colorado, so why don’t you visit our beautiful area while you’re here? We have compiled a list of popular attractions for you to check out.
Must see outside of Boulder:
- Red Rocks Amphitheater and trails
In and around Boulder:
- Celestial Seasonings/Leanin’ Tree Museum of Western Art
- Pearl Street Mall
- Boulder Public Library (cool building)
- Boulder Farmer’s Market (one of the best in the country)
- Butterfly Pavilion – Westminster
- Planetarium – Boulder CU Campus
- McGuckins (local hardware store)
Hiking in and around Boulder:
- Chautauqua/Flagstaff Amphitheater (great views, short hikes)
- Sanitas – hiking in Boulder
- Trails through downtown Boulder and along the Boulder Creek
- Boulder Falls – up the Canyon towards Nederland
Golden:
- Coors Brewery Tour (and the town of Golden is picturesque)
- Colorado Railroad Museum
Denver:
- Tattered Cover Bookstore, Union Station
- Denver Central Market – food marketplace
- Artisan food market
- Denver Museum of Nature and Science
- Denver Art Museum
- The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver
Farther out:
- Nederland area
- Estes Park
- Rocky Mountain National Park is pretty spectacular for out-of-towners
- Wild Animal Sanctuary (Keenesburg) – 50 min from Boulder – and $30 admission, but very worthwhile if you love large animals
- Loveland Ski Area – only a short drive into the mountains from Boulder, and still open for skiing!
Have an extra day or two? Consider a trip 1.5 hours south to Colorado Springs to see:
- Garden of the Gods
- Air Force Academy
- Red Rock Canyon Open Space
- Pikes Peak “America’s Mountain” – take the cog rail or drive the highway all the way to the top for a breathtaking view!
